Spektral Mobile

Spektral is a professional real-time audio analyser for sound engineers. Ring out a PA, find the frequency that is howling, and keep an eye on the level in the room, all from your iPhone or iPad.

THREE VIEWS, ONE WORKFLOW
• RTA: live spectrum on a logarithmic frequency scale, 20Hz to 20kHz
• Spectrograph: scrolling time-frequency heatmap, where feedback shows as a persistent bright horizontal line
• SPL meter: A, C or Z weighted, Fast, Slow or Impulse, with the room's history behind it

RING-OUT
Spektral listens for a frequency that is building rather than one that is merely loud, so a bass note or a mains hum cannot set it off. When it finds one it names the frequency, gives you the musical note, and suggests the notch: centre frequency, Q and cut. Confirmed rings stay in a list as you work through them.

LEVEL AND LEQ
• Leq over 1 minute, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour and 8 hours, all running at once
• Three hours of level history on one graph, with min, max and average
• Limit Guard: set a limit and a window, and Spektral forecasts how long you have before you reach it
• Calibrate against an acoustic calibrator when you need accurate absolute levels

PRECISION
• 4096-point FFT
• Parabolic interpolation for sub-bin cursor and peak accuracy
• Peak hold with smooth decay
• Smoothing from 1/24 octave through to 1/1
• Frame averaging up to infinite
• Musical note display on peaks and cursor

TOOLS
• Identify: labels the strongest peaks automatically, or just the single worst one
• Snapshot compare: freeze a trace and A/B against it
• Pink noise generator for reference output

TOUCH-OPTIMISED
• Horizontal pinch zooms the frequency axis, vertical pinch zooms the dB range
• Drag to pan when zoomed, tap to place the cursor
• Double-tap to reset all zoom and pan
