Delta Air Lines

Delta Air Lines is the big-network American carrier that people use for a dense domestic map, international connections, and the kind of operational breadth only a major hub airline can sustain. By our assessment, it is especially good at coverage and schedule depth, with a broad fleet and a frequent-flyer machine that keeps business travellers in the orbit. The trade-off is that a legacy airline almost never feels light: fares, seat classes, and service levels can be a maze, and the premium cabins are where the experience improves most. In practice Delta feels like a very large system rather than a single tidy product, with app, alliance ties, and hub transfers doing much of the work. It sits among the strongest US legacy carriers, usually compared with American Airlines and United Airlines rather than with low-cost names. The American base is obvious in the network, but the more useful fact for passengers is that it is built for scale, not simplicity. People who want lots of route options and a major-hub reach will get more from it than travellers looking for an especially plain ticket.
