AB Wheel

AB Wheel is a simple piece of home exercise gear for core work, especially people who already have some control over planks and want a harder rollout movement. What it does well is load the abs, shoulders, and braces of the body with very little equipment and almost no floor space. By our assessment, the downside is that it is unforgiving: if the back sags or the shoulders give way, the exercise stops being clean fast. In practice it feels basic and serious at once, because there is only one obvious motion and it asks for careful form every time. Compared with sit-ups or crunches, it gives more of a full-body stability demand; compared with larger machines, it is cheap and brutally compact. It is best for people who want a minimalist strength tool and already pay attention to technique, and less good for anyone who needs a gentle entry into core training. The wheel itself is plain, but the movement is not forgiving.
