Loretta

Loretta is the sort of game name that tells you almost nothing on the surface, so the real question is what it does once the player starts moving through it. By our assessment, that usually means a narrative or indie-style project where character, tone, and small choices matter more than combat-heavy systems. The strength of that approach is intimacy: these games can make ordinary spaces and awkward social moments carry real weight. The downside is narrower reach, because if the writing or structure does not land, there is little mechanical spectacle to hide behind. In practice, it tends to be about reading scenes, following a mood, and accepting a slower pace than big mainstream adventures. It sits in the broad field of story-first games rather than in any flashy genre lane. The title Loretta suggests a personal focus, and the game likely has to earn its effect through writing rather than scale.
