Carrying work history on a phone is the whole point of Carteira de Trabalho Digital, and that narrow job is exactly why it exists. By our assessment, it is strongest as a government utility for checking employment records and keeping the digital version of Brazil’s work card close at hand. Its weakness is also clear: it is not a broad HR platform, and anything outside the official paperwork use case is not its concern. In practice the app is about consultation and reference more than daily interaction, so most of the value comes from having the record available when needed. Compared with a paper booklet, it is less easy to lose and easier to open, but it is also less expansive than a full employment service. The ceiling is simply the scope of the official data it shows.
