Box Breathe

Box Breathe is for the simplest end of breathing practice: counting your inhale, hold, exhale, and pause in a square pattern. By our assessment, that structure is the app’s real strength, because it gives anxious or distracted people something exact to follow instead of a loose meditation prompt. The downside is that box breathing is a narrow tool, and an app built around it will not satisfy anyone looking for broad mindfulness courses, sleep libraries, or coaching. In practice, it should feel calm and repetitive, which is the point; the method works by keeping attention on a fixed rhythm. Box Breathe sits among the most stripped-back Health & Fitness apps, and its value comes from staying that plain.
