Young & Hungry

Young & Hungry is one of those comedies that runs on appetite, dating mess, and the chaos of trying to keep adult life neat when it plainly is not. By our assessment, the show’s strength is its easy sitcom shape: a bright cast, fast exchanges, and a premise that can keep feeding new domestic problems. The downside is that this kind of comedy can become predictable if it leans too hard on the same relationship beats. In practice, it is light, brisk television, made for short bursts rather than heavy concentration. It sits in the familiar multi-episode comedy lane beside other young-adult sitcoms, and it does not pretend to be anything grander than a breezy repeatable hangout. Young & Hungry works best when the character friction stays sharp and the jokes do not blur into routine.
