Yonderland

Yonderland is a sketchy fantasy comedy built for viewers who like live-action worlds that keep breaking into jokes, costumes and quick role-switches. By our assessment, its main strength is that it commits to absurdity without pretending to be anything grander than a comic set-up, so the pace stays light and the jokes do most of the work. The limit is that this kind of show lives or dies on how well its running gags land, and the structure can feel thin if the inventiveness wears off. In practice it plays like a dense string of character bits rather than a big serialized story, with the tone doing more lifting than plot. It sits closer to offbeat British TV comedy than to polished family fantasy, and the category label really is Comedy. It suits people who want silliness first and narrative polish second, and the rest will probably find the premise too narrow.
