What's Happening Now!

What's Happening Now! sits in the familiar old-network sitcom lane, built for viewers who like family banter, studio-audience timing, and easy episode-by-episode watching. By our assessment, it is at its best when it leans on broad comic rhythms rather than anything delicate, and that makes the tone feel sturdy even when the plots are modest. The trade-off is obvious: this kind of comedy lives on repetition, so the jokes and rhythms can feel dated if you want sharper writing or more surprise. In practice, it is the sort of show people leave on for a light half-hour rather than a deep run, and the category tag as Comedy fits that plainly.
