Walker, Texas Ranger

Walker, Texas Ranger works as straightforward network crime drama with a clean moral line and a lot of action. By our assessment, its appeal is the plain, case-of-the-week structure and the way it turns Chuck Norris-style law enforcement into a weekly ritual. The downside is that this kind of show can feel repetitive, and the character work usually stays secondary to the fistfights and rescues. In practice it plays like something you drop in for a familiar pattern rather than surprise. Compared with darker cop shows, it is less interested in grime and more interested in order. The Astrina catalogue files Walker, Texas Ranger under Drama, and that fits its broad, conventional shape.
