Through the Wormhole

Through the Wormhole takes big science questions and packages them as accessible television for viewers who want cosmology, physics, consciousness, and the usual edge of the unknown in one place. By our assessment, its strongest feature is the clear, inviting way it pulls complicated topics into a mainstream documentary frame. The weakness is familiar to this sort of show: it can move from hard science into speculation quickly, so the line between explanation and wonder is sometimes thin. In practice it feels polished, narrated, and built to keep a general audience moving along rather than to satisfy specialists. Compared with stricter science programming, it is looser and more pop-oriented, which is also why it reaches farther. It is a reasonable pick for curious viewers, but not the place for anyone expecting a laboratory-grade treatment of every claim. Through the Wormhole lives in the space between science documentary and ideas television.
