The Lost World

The Lost World is an action series that lives on dinosaurs, jungle danger, and the old pulp idea of a hidden place cut off from the modern world. By our assessment, that gives it a clear adventure hook and a lot of room for chase scenes, traps, and cliff-edge trouble. The downside is that the premise is a familiar one, so much depends on whether the episode-to-episode adventures keep enough pace and invention. In practice it is the sort of show that moves fast and asks you to enjoy the setup rather than inspect it too closely. It sits in the middle of adventure TV rather than near the top of the genre, because the appeal is the concept and the action beats. The title says exactly what it is after, and the series keeps returning to that promise.
