The Dovekeepers

The Dovekeepers asks a lot from its audience: patience, attention, and some tolerance for solemn historical storytelling. By our assessment, its main strength is the scope of the survival-and-faith story, which gives it a weightier texture than a standard costume drama. The trade-off is that this kind of miniseries can feel slow and heavy, especially when it spends more time on mood and burden than on momentum. In practice it is the sort of show that moves through sand rather than on rails, with a serious, almost hushed atmosphere. Compared with leaner historical dramas, it aims for gravitas over speed. Astrina lists The Dovekeepers as Drama, and that fits its earnest, severe style.
