Sister Wives

Sister Wives is the kind of long-form family reality series that follows one plural marriage and the daily strain around it. By our assessment, its strength is that it makes an unusual domestic structure legible without dressing it up, so the viewer sees routines, tensions, and the practical work of keeping many relationships moving at once. The trade-off is that the format can be repetitive, because the same arguments and obligations return in cycles. In practice it feels less like a tidy premise than like a household under constant negotiation. It sits in the familiar territory of family reality TV, but with a subject that is more specific than the average domestic show. People who want a straightforward look at a complicated family system may find it absorbing; people who want a quick, self-contained arc will not.
