Samantha Who?

Samantha Who? gets its edge from amnesia as a comic reset button, and that premise gives the show a different rhythm from the usual workplace or family sitcom. By our assessment, it is for viewers who like broad network comedy with a sharper memory-game hook and a lead character rebuilding herself in public. Its best trick is the blend of self-correction and social embarrassment: every old habit has to be rediscovered, and that keeps the jokes moving. The downside is that the premise can only stretch so far before the repetition shows. In practice it feels like a glossy U.S. sitcom with fast scene changes, clean punchlines, and a soft emotional core. Compared with standard rom-com television, Samantha Who? is lighter and more concept-driven, but less interested in realism than in comic recoil. The show stays enjoyable when the memory loss is used to expose ordinary selfishness and awkwardness.
