Résistance

Résistance looks like a wartime drama built around pressure, secrecy, and the cost of standing against power. By our assessment, that gives it a strong historical frame, because resistance stories live or die on detail, mood, and moral strain. Its clear advantage is the subject itself: this kind of drama can carry urgency without needing tricks. The limit is just as clear, though, because such series often depend on familiar wartime beats and can become solemn before they become surprising. In practice, the viewing experience is usually tense and serious, with little room for lightness. It sits near other historical dramas about occupation and defiance, not near broad adventure television. Résistance is for viewers who want a serious period drama and are comfortable with a heavy tone.
