Primeval: New World

Primeval: New World is a creature-feature adventure series built for viewers who want dinosaurs, portal logic, and a weekly monster problem in a modern setting. By our assessment, its main strength is that it takes the Primeval formula and leans into brisk genre action instead of pretending to be subtle science fiction. The downside is also built in: the writing has to keep feeding the anomaly-and-creature engine, so character work stays lighter than in a serious drama. In practice it plays like compact genre TV, with straightforward stakes and a lot of running, shouting, and emergency problem-solving. It sits closer to the pulpy end of sci-fi action than to anything thoughtful, and the Astrina Drama tag reflects only the broad shelf it lands on here.
