Off Centre

Off Centre is a sitcom about young adults drifting through a New York apartment and the awkwardness that comes with that setup. By our assessment, its main appeal is the banter and the easy hangout rhythm, which can make even thin plots go down smoothly. The trade-off is that the show depends heavily on charm and timing, so the material itself is less memorable than the cast chemistry around it. In practice it feels like a late-night comedy built for watching the characters bounce off one another more than for following a strong story. Off Centre sits among the many short-lived network sitcoms of its era, and it is the kind of show people remember more for mood than for a deep premise.
