Obsession: Dark Desires

Obsession: Dark Desires is for viewers drawn to crime-reconstruction television, the kind that retells intimate, frightening stories through interviews, reenactments, and a heavy warning tone. By our assessment, its strength is atmosphere: it knows how to make a case feel unsettling without needing fiction’s polish. The downside is that the format can feel samey, because each episode leans on the same machinery of suspense and aftermath. In practice it is the sort of show people either sample for a few cases or keep on as grim background. It sits in the true-crime TV lane rather than in drama proper, and the name tells you the emphasis is on fixation and danger, not on comfort viewing.
