My Boys

My Boys is a workplace-and-friends sitcom dressed in sports talk and everyday Chicago banter, centered on a woman moving through a mostly male circle without turning the whole thing into a thesis. By our assessment, that plainness is its strength: the jokes come from small social frictions, baseball chatter, and the feeling of a group that has known each other too long. It is lighter than the title sounds, but not featherweight, and the drama side stays domestic rather than melodramatic. The downside is that it can feel narrow if you want big plot swings or sharp formal tricks; it lives on conversation and routine. In practice, that makes My Boys easy to slip into and easy to leave after an episode or two. It sits below the more widely remembered workplace comedies because it trades size for familiarity, and it never pretends to be more than a hangout show with some emotional glue.
