Marvel's Jessica Jones

Marvel's Jessica Jones works best as a hard, weary superhero drama for people who want the cost of survival to stay visible. By our assessment, it is strongest in Jessica herself: the private-eye setup, the urban grime, and the pressure of trauma give the show a sharper edge than many comic-book series. Its main limit is that the bleakness can narrow the range of moods, and the investigations often matter more than the action. In practice it feels like a noir casebook with superpowers threaded through it, not a bright team adventure. Compared with lighter Marvel TV, it is more bruised and more personal. It fits viewers who want character damage, tenant-locked apartments, and long arguments as much as fights, and it is less for anyone looking for clean heroics or easy comfort.
