Highlander: The Raven

Highlander: The Raven takes the immortals-and-lore idea and shifts it toward a cleaner lead-character vehicle, with more emphasis on a single heroine moving through the franchise’s fantasy rules. By our assessment, that makes it easier to approach than a sprawling myth arc, because the show can work as a more focused companion piece. The downside is also obvious: when a spin-off narrows the frame, it can feel lighter and less essential than the original world it came from. In practice it is the sort of show that lives or dies on tone, mood, and the appeal of its central figure. Highlander: The Raven sits in the middle ground between genre continuation and standalone drama. It is for viewers who want more of that universe in a simpler package, and not for people who need the biggest possible stakes.
