Bag of Bones

Bag of Bones lives on moody TV horror, where a haunted house, a grieving writer, and a slow-burn mystery do most of the work. By our assessment, its best quality is atmosphere: it wants dread, weather, and the sense that ordinary rooms can turn sour. The drawback is that this kind of adaptation has to carry a lot of familiar Stephen King baggage, so the shape may feel expected if you know the lane already. In practice it is less about shocks than about a steady, uneasy pull. Bag of Bones sits between supernatural drama and ghost story, which gives it a middle position rather than a sharp identity. The catalogue puts it under Drama, and that broad label is fair enough. It is the sort of title that asks for patience with tone and quiet menace, not for fast payoff.
