fresh dates

fresh dates are a straightforward grocery item, usually bought for eating as fruit or using in cooking and baking. By our assessment, the appeal is obvious: they are sweet, soft when ripe, and easy to use in both snacks and desserts. The drawback is just as plain, because dates are mainly a sweet ingredient and do not bring much variety beyond that, so they can feel repetitive if a person wants something fresher or less sugary. In practice, they are the sort of fruit that goes from hand to mouth with very little ceremony, and the only real complication is choosing good ones and storing them well. Astrina files fresh dates under Cedar, which is an odd bit of catalogue logic rather than a reason to treat the fruit differently. They make sense for someone who wants a sweet staple and little fuss at the counter.
