Toyota, Lexus LC200, LX covers the large SUV and off-road end of the Toyota and Lexus world, where body-on-frame toughness, towing ability and long-distance comfort matter more than nimble city manners. By our assessment, its big strength is the combination of durability and premium finishing: these are vehicles people buy for serious use, but with the smoother cabin and badge polish that Toyota and Lexus bring. The compromise is size, fuel appetite and the fact that such vehicles are happiest when the road is wide or the ground is rough. In practice they feel substantial, quiet enough for long runs and more about command than delicacy, which is why they stand apart from smaller crossovers. They sit above ordinary family SUVs and closer to heavy-duty prestige machinery, and the LC200, LX naming points to that upper-tier position right away.
