Toyota Proace City BEV is a compact electric van for city deliveries, small trades, and fleets that need sliding doors, a square cargo bay, and easy loading rather than style. By our assessment, its main virtue is exactly that practical layout: it turns tight streets and short routes into workable duty for an EV van. The compromise is familiar too, because an electric small van has to live within battery range, payload, and charging plans, so it is not a carefree long-haul tool. In use this kind of vehicle is about stops, shelves, parcels, and narrow parking spaces, with the cabin and rear area arranged to do work rather than impress. Compared with a passenger EV, the Proace City BEV is more about utility than comfort, and compared with a diesel van it swaps simple refuelling for plugs and planning. It makes sense for urban fleets and local business runs, not for anyone who wants one vehicle to cover every kind of job.
