By our assessment, Renault ZOE is a compact electric hatchback for drivers who want a straightforward EV for city and suburban use. Its best-known strength is easy, quiet running with no fuel stops in the usual sense, plus a shape that makes parking and traffic work less tiring. The honest limitation is that it is a small car with a small-car body and battery pack, so long-haul flexibility is not its natural strength. In everyday use it feels like a normal hatchback until the charging routine becomes part of the day. Against larger electric cars it is less spacious and less relaxed for long trips, but usually simpler and cheaper to live with than a bigger EV.
