New Wooden Hand Rattle

New Wooden Hand Rattle is a very plain baby toy: a small wooden object meant for shaking, gripping, and making a soft noise. Its best quality is the simple physical feel of wood, which is sturdier and warmer in the hand than thin plastic toys. By our assessment, the trade-off is obvious too, because it does one job and stops there; there are no lights, songs, or moving parts to keep a child busy for long. In practice it is the sort of thing adults hand over for short, supervised play and then wash or wipe down with ordinary care. It sits in the old, basic part of the toy shelf, beside maracas and simple grasp toys, not beside anything electronic or busy. New Wooden Hand Rattle suits families who want something minimal and tactile, but it will seem too modest for anyone looking for a toy with more to do.
