MECO Electric Bicycle

MECO Electric Bicycle is a plain electric bike for commuting, errands, and riders who want pedal assistance instead of a moped-style machine. By our assessment, its real strength is the way an e-bike keeps the ride familiar while flattening hills and taking the edge off distance. The downside is the usual one for electric bicycles: battery charge matters, the weight is higher than a normal bike, and the motor does not remove the need to pedal and maintain the bike. In practice it feels like a bike first, with the assist there when the legs would otherwise complain. It sits in the middle of the e-bike market, where the main question is whether you want help on top of cycling, not a scooter in disguise or a full motor vehicle.
