Land Rover Discovery Sport is the compact seven-seat SUV people choose when they want the Land Rover badge without moving up to a much larger and pricier model. Its real strength is flexibility: the cabin can take family duty, the higher driving position gives an easy view out, and the brand’s off-road image is backed by more than just styling. By our assessment, the compromise is that the third row is small and best treated as occasional space, not a full-time solution. In daily use it feels like a family car that sits a bit taller and heavier than a regular crossover, with the extra height helping on rough roads and in bad weather. It sits below the bigger Discovery and above many ordinary compact SUVs in price and ambition, so it makes sense for buyers who want a proper Land Rover shape without the bulk. The infotainment and cabin finish have improved over time, but the whole package still asks for more money and more tolerance than a plain mainstream rival.
