LaFerrari

LaFerrari represents Ferrari’s road-car engineering at its most extreme: a hybrid supercar built around a high-performance petrol engine and electric assistance. That combination gives it a different character from a conventional exotic car, with electric power supporting rather than replacing the combustion engine. Its appeal is as much the engineering and Ferrari identity as everyday transport. The trade-off is plain: a low, powerful, expensive-to-run supercar is not a practical choice for commuting, rough roads or carrying much luggage. By our assessment, LaFerrari is an impressive example of a road car shaped by racing ambitions, but its special qualities matter most in conditions where its performance can actually be used. Its narrow purpose is part of the design, not a promise of ordinary convenience.
