JSP

JSP is a practical web technology for generating HTML on the server, and that makes it useful in Java-based back ends that still serve rendered pages. By our assessment, its strength is the direct link to the Java ecosystem and the fact that it can plug into older enterprise stacks without much ceremony. The downside is equally plain: it belongs to an older style of server-side page building, so modern teams often prefer templates with cleaner separation or a front end that talks to an API. In use, JSP tends to feel like maintenance as much as development, especially when pages grow tangled with logic. It sits in the same general family as servlets and other Java server-side tools, but it is not the first choice for fresh projects. JSP remains a known piece of the Java web world, especially where legacy systems need to keep moving.
