Instant Cold™ neck fan

Instant Cold™ neck fan is a small personal fan for hot days, commuting, desk work, or anyone who wants air aimed at the face and neck instead of across a whole room. By our assessment, its best point is the hands-free shape: it leaves the hands alone and keeps the airflow close to the body. The limit is obvious for this whole category — it cools by moving air, so in very humid heat it feels more like relief than real cooling. In practice these neck fans are a bit awkward to wear for long stretches, especially if the fan body is heavy or the airflow is too loud for quiet places. Compared with a tabletop fan, it gives mobility; compared with cooling towels or air conditioning, it is much less effective. Instant Cold™ is a portable comfort gadget, not a serious climate fix.
