GRN-FLASHING Astrolabe Projector Lamp is the sort of decorative light that matters more for mood than for serious illumination, and by our assessment, that is both its appeal and its limit. The astrolabe theme gives it a celestial, old-instrument look, which will attract people who like room decor with a bit of astronomy in the styling. But a projector lamp is still mostly about pattern and atmosphere, not about strong, even lighting for reading or work. In practice these lamps usually create a show on the wall or ceiling and then ask the room to become part of the display. It sits well inside the novelty-lamp category, between a practical lamp and a toy-like light effect, so it should be chosen for the image it makes rather than for task lighting. If someone wants an ambient object with a themed projection, it makes sense; if the goal is to light a desk properly, it does not.
