Fishing toys

Fishing toys are plain children’s playthings built around a simple catching game, usually with a magnetic rod, little fish, or floating pieces. By our assessment, their strength is obvious: they teach hand-eye coordination, matching, and turn-taking without asking for much setup. The limit is just as obvious, because the game is repetitive and the novelty fades fast once the child has figured out the trick. In practice, it is a calm tabletop toy with a small physical action loop, not a deep game or a toy that stays interesting for long on its own. The name tells the truth plainly, and that honesty is about the best thing going for it.
