Fan Heater is the little electric space heater people reach for when one room is cold and central heating is not doing the job. By our assessment, its real strength is fast, direct warmth: switch it on and the room starts feeling different quickly, especially in a small space or at a desk. The trade-off is that it heats air in a hurry rather than holding a steady, gentle climate, so noise, hot airflow and power use are part of the deal. In practice it is a very simple appliance, usually with a thermostat and a couple of heat settings, and it makes sense only where you can keep clear space around it.
