Evobus eCitaro, eCitaro G is aimed at city fleets that need battery-electric buses for dense routes, frequent stops, and passenger flow all day long. By our assessment, its best feature is exactly that it translates a familiar city-bus format into an electric one without asking operators to invent a new vehicle class from scratch. The downside is the usual one for large battery buses: charging, route planning, and depot logistics become part of the job. In practice the appeal is in silent low-speed running, low-floor boarding, and the steady, workmanlike shape that public transport buyers know how to use. It sits against other electric urban buses rather than long-distance coaches, and the articulated eCitaro G adds capacity for busier lines.
