ELEPHANT with a suction cup is the kind of toy or novelty object that matters more by where it can stick than by anything complicated it can do. By our assessment, the attraction is obvious and immediate: an elephant-shaped figure with a suction cup is easy to place on smooth surfaces and easy to move again. The downside is equally plain, because suction-cup toys depend on the surface, the seal, and how clean both are. In practice that means they are fussy in a very ordinary way: good on the right slick spot, disappointing on textured or dusty ones. It sits in the little world between bath toys, desk ornaments, and childlike gadgets, and the limit is the cup itself. In the right place it behaves exactly as promised, which is enough for a small object like this.
