What Duralac Anti-corrosive jointing compound does well is plain enough: it is a paste for stopping dissimilar metals from attacking each other where they meet, especially in marine and outdoor hardware. By our assessment, that makes it useful for joints, fasteners and fittings where aluminium, stainless steel and other metals can set up corrosion problems. The strength is very specific and very real, because a product like this is about isolation and protection rather than shine or glue-like strength. The trade-off is that it is not a universal sealant or adhesive, and it only earns its keep when the jointing job is the right one. In practice it is an old-fashioned workshop material, messy in the hand and reassuringly direct in what it is for. It sits in the specialist end of anti-seize and anti-corrosion compounds, and the ceiling is set by proper surface prep and correct application.
