It does well at combining electric driving with a petrol engine, so short trips can feel more relaxed than in a conventional diesel or petrol version. The trade-off is the usual one for plug-in hybrids: once the battery is low, the extra weight is still there, and the car asks more of charging habits than a plain hybrid does. In practice it is a refined, fairly technical kind of family car, with the DS emphasis on style and interior finish sitting above the everyday hardware. It sits closer to premium crossovers than to budget hybrids, and that is where its appeal lives. The number 7 is simply part of the model name, not a spec.
