Bristol hoodie is the plain sort of sweatshirt-with-hood that people wear for warmth, layering and easy everyday use. By our assessment, its best quality is the one a hoodie should have: it gives relaxed coverage, pockets, and a familiar shape that works with jeans, joggers or a coat over the top. The downside is equally familiar, because hoodies are casual by design and can feel too ordinary or too warm for sharper settings. In practice it is about softness, washability and fit more than about clever construction. Compared with a sweatshirt, it trades a little neatness for the hood and the front pocket, and compared with outerwear it is only a mid-layer with no real weather defence.
