B&M My First Ball is the sort of first ball parents buy when they want something soft, simple and easy for a baby to grab, roll and chase. By our assessment, its strength is exactly that plain job: a basic early toy that invites kicking, squeezing and wobbling around the floor without asking much from the child. The downside is that it is deliberately uncomplicated, so it will not hold attention the way a more active toy with lights, sounds or textures might. In practice the appeal is in how little setup it needs; it is just there, ready to be thrown, rolled or hugged. Against flashier baby toys, it is almost stubbornly plain, which is also why it works.
