What Aqua gets right is the plain, everyday job of bottled water: it is there for drinking, carrying around, and using when someone wants a straightforward water brand rather than a flavored drink. By our assessment, that clarity is its real advantage, because water does not need theatrics and Aqua keeps the promise simple. The limitation is the same one that faces almost every bottled-water brand: once the label is stripped away, the product itself has very little room to differ beyond source, mineral profile, and packaging. In practice it is the kind of thing people notice only when they want it cold, clean-tasting, and immediately available. It sits in the broad middle of the water aisle rather than at the premium end, and the Danone filing just places it inside a larger food-and-drink group. The value is in being unremarkable in the right way.
