Woodside Energy

Woodside Energy is for people who follow large-scale oil and gas, especially upstream production and liquefied natural gas. By our assessment, its strength is the plain, heavy industrial kind: long-life assets, LNG export exposure, and a business model that is easier to read than many energy names. The trade-off is equally plain, because this is still a fossil-fuel company, so it moves with commodity prices and the politics of emissions. In practice that means drilling, pipelines, processing trains, and project discipline rather than consumer-facing polish. It sits closer to the big integrated and LNG-focused producers than to nimble renewables players, and the Australian base matters because that is where much of its identity and operating footprint come from.
