Trip.com is built for travellers who want flights, hotels, trains, car rentals, and trip management in one place instead of juggling separate sites. By our assessment, its real strength is breadth across booking categories, plus the way it serves cross-border travel with a large inventory and a mobile-first feel. The compromise is that any online travel agency sits between the customer and the supplier, so change rules, refund friction, and support quality can matter a lot. In practice it is a search-and-book tool with itinerary handling, price comparison, and the usual travel paperwork tucked into one app and website. Trip.com sits alongside the big global OTAs, and it is not a boutique planner or a destination guide. The company is based in China.
