By our assessment, its appeal comes from that steady, utility-like exposure and the fact that the business is built around cash-generating holdings, not flashy growth stories. The downside is the usual one for this kind of vehicle: it depends on asset quality, financing costs and how patiently you want to hold a portfolio instead of a simple operating company. In practice, that means slow-moving reports, balance-sheet talk and a lot of attention to what sits inside the portfolio.
