By our assessment, it is useful as a corporate wrapper for a larger banking or financial group, because it signals ownership and control without pretending to be the front-facing brand. The downside is that it is intentionally dry and remote, so it gives no help to anyone trying to understand the actual services behind it. In practice it belongs in filings, structure charts, and regulatory paperwork, where that kind of distance is normal.
