Steffens, Karen

Steffens, Karen belongs to the same family of personal-name companies, where the name itself does most of the branding and says very little about the service. By our assessment, that can be a strength when the work is built around reputation, because the name feels accountable and human. It is also a limit, since nothing in it tells you the sector or the offer, and the reader has to bring in context from elsewhere. In practice it is a name that behaves well on business cards, letterheads, and profile pages, but it does not do the explanatory job of a descriptive firm name. Compared with broader brand names, it is more intimate and less explicit. It suits a business that wants a person at the front, and it stops being enough the moment the business needs to explain itself quickly.
