Sky is the kind of telecom-and-media brand people know through TV bundles, broadband and sports rights rather than through a single product box. In Britain it has long been associated with pay television, satellite and internet service, and by our assessment its strength is in packaging a lot of viewing and connectivity into one familiar brand. That also explains the main limit: you do not get the simplicity of a pure broadcaster or the low drama of a niche internet provider, because Sky ties together subscriptions, hardware and account management. In practice it often means set-top boxes, channel packages, streaming access and the usual small-print around contracts. Compared with stand-alone streaming services it feels broader and heavier; compared with old-school TV it is more flexible and internet-shaped. Sky suits households that want one name across television and broadband, and it is less attractive if all that complexity sounds like a chore.
