Roshan Sarafi

Roshan Sarafi reads like a money-transfer shop, the kind people use for remittances, bill payments, or small financial errands rather than for full banking. By our assessment, the appeal of a sarafi business is speed and local familiarity: it tends to be closer to everyday cash needs than a formal bank branch. The cost of that simplicity is a smaller ceiling, since these services usually do not replace a full account, savings products, or broader financial tools. In practice the experience is direct and transactional, with a human counter or local contact doing much of the work. Roshan Sarafi sits in the same informal finance lane as exchange houses and hawala agents, and it matters most where convenience beats breadth.
